Impressing and Going Greener
By Derek Savy
Le Duc de Praslin Hotel has just completed an extension with a two-bedroom family suite and six superior rooms added to its set up. The luxurious modern rooms complement the existing product on offer, adding more choice to its guests. The secluded rooms, with their own pool and gazebo, are located just next to the existing hotel, which continues to impress tour operator partners and online booking agents.
The hotel has already won several accolades, the latest being an award from ‘Zoover’ – a top Dutch online portal - as the ‘top hotel in Seychelles for 2013’. The establishment’s latest extension consists of a building housing six 75 m² superior rooms and two 150 m² two-bedroom family suites equipped with modern facilities and stunning decor. The eco-friendly architectural design boasts energy-saving inverter air-conditioning (using 35% less energy), an entry card system for the rooms to save energy when clients leave the room and over 150 LED lights to beautifully illuminate the building whilstconsuming a minimal 600 watts of electricity.
A specially-designed roofing system harvests rainwater that is stored in an 80,000 litre underground holding tank before being treated for safe use by clients. The hot water is solar powered.
The new swimming pool is another Magna pool, the most ecological pool filtration system in the world.
The additional rooms are ideally located next door to Le Duc and, with their own pool and gazebo, are ideal for small groups of 12 to 20 people, offering their own private space whilst enjoying all the facilities and quality services of the main hotel.
The recent upgrading of the hotel’s signature beach restaurant, Café des Arts, has also come at the right time to cater for the additional rooms and further confirms
Le Duc as being the best value available.
